Job summary

American Bureau of Shipping is seeking an entry-level Surveyor I in Abu Dhabi. The role supports surveying vessels and marine structures for compliance with ABS rules and statutory requirements, under supervision.

You will learn to prepare reports, interact with clients, and maintain organized survey files. The candidate should have a relevant engineering or physical science background or maritime certification with basic ship operations knowledge, and be proficient in English.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience requirements: tertiary engineering or physical science program; or marine/nautical certification with seagoing experience; English proficiency; relevant certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine surveys on classed vessels, platforms, or marine structures for classification and compliance.
• Prepare technically accurate and timely inspection reports.
• Maintain survey files orderly and up-to-date.
• Engage with clients to resolve issues within area of expertise.
• Develop skills for administration of office procedures and port operations.
