Job summary

The Junior Legal Counsel will support the HALCON Legal Department with legal research, drafting opinions and contracts, due diligence, and maintaining records in both English and Arabic.

Fluency in Arabic and English is essential, with 3–5 years of relevant experience. The role involves handling contractual documents, legal correspondence, and day-to-day legal inquiries,

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a law firm or legal department of a multinational organization
• Strong drafting skills for contracts and legal opinions
• Proficiency in legal research and document analysis
• Knowledge of UAE laws and international legal practices
• Fluent in Arabic & English (written and verbal)

Responsibilities

• Research case-related factual issues using in-house files and outside reference sources
• Research legal matters to determine precedence or to help build a case. Investigate facts and laws of cases and search public records and other resources to prepare cases and determine appropriate courses of action
• Perform due diligence on contracts and business agreements and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements
• Draft legal documents and pleadings, including deposition notices, subpoenas, motions, certifications, contracts, briefs, and complaints in English and Arabic
• Conduct legal research and assist in preparing legal documents
• Create correspondence by drafting emails and letters of engagement in English and Arabic
• Arrange client and supplier appointment and follow up meetings in accordance with the calendar and timelines
• Organize, maintain and update records, documents, statutory books and registers. Keep the legal database and law library
• Deal with general day to day operational legal enquiries from the business units/departments
• Ensure the confidentiality
• Stay up to date on current laws and legal practices
