Job summary

Dutco Construction is seeking a Junior Estimator to support the estimation team on fit-out projects. The role involves analyzing project requirements, measuring quantities, and helping prepare detailed cost estimates under the guidance of senior estimators.

You will collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors, learn estimation software, and contribute to accurate, competitive bids while maintaining quality and timely submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in estimation within construction or fit-out industries.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the cost estimation efforts to develop accurate and comprehensive estimates for fit-out projects.
• Collaborate with senior estimators, project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather and assess project requirements.
• Support in utilizing estimation software to perform accurate cost calculations, ensuring consistency and precision.
• Assist in analyzing and validating subcontractor and supplier quotes, under the guidance of senior estimators.
• Support in presenting and explaining cost estimates to internal stakeholders and clients, addressing queries as necessary.
• Collaborate with other relevant teams to ensure accurate quantification and cost analysis.
• Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to support informed decision-making.
• Maintain accurate records of estimation data under the guidance of senior estimators.

The Junior Estimator 9fit-out) plays a crucial role within the construction fit-out company, supporting the estimation team in accurately assessing project costs and providing comprehensive estimates. This position involves closely working with senior estimators, analyzing project requirements, and contributing to the development of competitive and precise cost estimates for fit-out projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assist in the cost estimation process under the guidance of senior estimators, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
• Learn and implement best practices and methodologies in cost estimation.

Project Analysis

• Support in the analysis of project plans, specifications, and scope documents to understand project requirements.
• Collaborate with senior estimators, project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.

Cost Calculation Assistance

• Learn to utilize estimation software and tools to assist in performing detailed cost calculations.
• Assist in quantifying materials, labor, and resources required for fit-out projects.

Bid Proposal Support

• Aid in the preparation of detailed and competitive cost estimates for fit-out projects under the guidance of senior estimators.
• Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to identify cost-efficient alternatives and value engineering options.

Primary Deliverables

• Precise and On Time submission of any type of documents/reports/data.
• Complete tasks efficiently and stay within budget as part of your job responsibilities

Secondary Deliverables

• Provide input to other departments or parties as needed on time.
