Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee the acceptance and delivery of cargo, courier and mail maintaining a high standard of customer service.
• Oversee the work of porters and equipment operators in the build-up and breakdown of cargo, cargo inspection and verification.
• Carry out an inventory of goods on request and record deviations.
• Record cargo details for tracking in manual and automated systems.
• Inspect and validate cargo documentation to ensure safe acceptance and delivery.
• Assist and support officials to ensure safe movement of cargo, courier and mail.
• Ensure dangerous goods are handled in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure GDP compliance for time/temperature sensitive shipments where applicable.

If you're inspired by purpose and motivated to be part of a global team shaping the future of aviation and travel, we’d love to have you onboard.As a Junior Cargo Assistant in the dnata Cargo Team, you will oversee the physical handling of all cargo, courier and mail and ensure all associated documentation is processed either manually or within automated systems to enable the safe and efficient import and export of cargo.In this role, you will:Oversee the acceptance and delivery of cargo, courier and mail maintaining a high standard of customer service.Oversee the work of porters and equipment operators in the build-up and breakdown of cargo, courier and inspect and verify cargo at each stage to ensure conformance with defined standardsCarry out an inventory of goods at the request of customers and record any deviations.Record the details of cargo accepted and delivered for tracking purposes, using manual and automated systems.Inspect and validate all associated cargo documentation to ensure the safe and efficient acceptance and delivery of cargo.Assist and support all officials to ensure the safe and efficient movement of cargo, courier and mail.Ensure that dangerous goods are handled in compliance with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.Ensure that the handling of time and temperature sensitive/pharmaceutical shipments demonstrate compliance with EU GDP requirements.QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:Have 10 years of schooling or equivalent.Have 3+ years of experience in logistics or cargo role.You’ll have an edge, if you:Have the ability to use computerised data recording systems.Have knowledge of airfreight computer applications.Have successfully completed cargo dangerous goods training.Our services on the ground keep the world in the air.
