Job summary

Gulf News in Dubai seeks an organized Accounts Assistant to support daily financial operations. You will record daily transactions, prepare invoices, handle AP/AR tasks, reconcile statements, and assist with month-end closing and basic financial reporting.

The role requires familiarity with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, SAP or ERP systems, attention to detail, and confidentiality of financial information.

Qualifications

• Experience with common accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP or ERP systems).
• Ability to maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain daily financial transactions.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and journal entries.
• Handle basic Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks.
• Reconcile bank statements and accounting records.
• Monitor customer payments and outstanding receivables.
• Verify supplier invoices and payment documents.
• Assist with monthly financial reports and account closing.
• Prepare basic financial statements and Excel reports.
• Assist with expense verification and reimbursement records.
• Support payroll-related accounting entries.
• Assist UAE VAT records, calculations, and documentation.
• Assist UAE Corporate Tax records and supporting documents.
• Support senior accountants during audits.
• Ensure transactions are recorded according to company accounting procedures.
