Job summary

Damen Middle East Shared Services, based in the United Arab Emirates, seeks a Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting across Damen entities in Abu Dhabi. You will handle purchase orders, invoice processing, and reconciliations while ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience; UAE experience is an advantage.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an advantage.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Supporting daily accounting activities for Damen Middle East entities.
• Processing supplier invoices, employee expense claims, and accounting transactions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Assisting in the creation of sales quotations and purchase orders.
• Preparing and processing purchase and sales invoices.
• Supporting bank payment preparation and execution in accordance with approved procedures.
• Performing bank, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reconciliations.
• Assisting with month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
• Supporting management reporting and preparation of financial schedules.
• Assisting with Group reporting requirements, including OneStream data submissions.
• Maintaining accurate financial documentation, records, and audit trails.
• Supporting VAT, Corporate Tax, and other statutory compliance activities.
• Assisting internal and external auditors with requested documentation and information.

The Role

As a Junior Accountant, you will support the Finance team in day-to-day accounting operations across Damen Middle East entities. You will be involved in purchase order creation, invoice processing, payment preparation, reconciliations, month-end closing activities, and financial reporting. Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, you will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.
