Job summary

IC Markets Global is seeking a Technical Team Lead – Java to guide a high-performance engineering team building backend services for fintech and forex trading platforms. You will shape architecture, drive delivery, and partner with Product, QA, DevOps, and trading stakeholders.

The role demands hands-on leadership, strong Java expertise (17+), microservices, and cloud delivery in a fast-paced environment. You will own technical direction and ensure reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Java
• Proven 2+ years in leading a technical or product team (7+ members)
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience designing REST APIs and backend integrations
• Strong understanding of performance, reliability, and production support
• Cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure) and DevOps collaboration

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Java backend developers
• Own day-to-day execution, priorities, and delivery progress
• Break down work into tasks and assign across the team
• Monitor progress, identify delays, risks, and blockers
• Provide technical direction for backend systems and trading services
• Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering standards
• Drive technical documentation and knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and mobile teams
• Ensure reliability, security, and scalability of services
