Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai is seeking an IT Assistant to join its IT team. The role focuses on hardware and software maintenance for IT and AV systems, ensuring smooth access to technology services for guests and colleagues.

You will provide first-line technical support, assist with network components, software/hardware installation, and monitor backups and system logs. A strong English level, teamwork, and prior hotel IT experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Junior School qualification or equivalent.
• Specific Degree or Diploma in relevant areas is plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a 5-star hotel environment.
• Technical related experience.
• Pre-opening hotel experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Problem solving.
• Excellent level of English, 2nd language an advantage.
• Ability to work with multicultural team.
• Proven experience as IT assistant or similar role.
• Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.

Responsibilities

• Providing Hotel Guests and Colleagues with first line technical support.
• Assisting in assembly and configuration of network components and associated services.
• Assisting in installation and testing of necessary software and hardware.
• Assisting in installation, upgrading and configuration of network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software and files services.
• Assisting in upgrades of network hardware and software components as required.
• Checking daily backups, all system interfaces, server hardware and logs.
• Installing, configuring and maintaining computer hardware and software.
• Documenting, archiving all correspondence and troubleshooting, following up with suppliers visits and maintenance.
• Installing, monitoring, and maintaining telecommunication equipment including cabling and providing technical guidance as needed.
• Supporting telephony infrastructure IP PBX, IP-DECT, Company mobile phones.
• Maintaining asset register for all IT assets.
• Assisting with identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware faults and software issues.
• Assisting with the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and network services

About the job

As IT Assistant you will provide hardware and software maintenance for IT and AV Systems. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.

As an IT Assistant you will beresponsiblefor the following duties:
