The Global Markets Business Finance team operates within Group Finance and supports Global Markets and Group Treasury businesses locally and internationally. Its functions include Business Unit Control, Independent Price Verification, Central MI, and Change Management. The team reports to the CFO, CIB Finance and International, providing financial reporting, control, and support services to the businesses within its remit.
The Business Unit Control function is responsible for accounting and financial reporting across Global Markets and Treasury. Acting as a primary control function, the team monitors trading activity and helps ensure that activity remains within its specified remit.

The role works with financial and trading information across systems including Oracle General Ledger, OneSumX, and Murex. A key responsibility is maintaining effective reconciliation and substantiation between general ledger records and source-system data while supporting a robust control environment.
The International Business Unit Controller contributes to the production of financial and management accounting reports in accordance with Group reporting standards. The wider function provides professional, independent, and objective financial support intended to assist the business in meeting its objectives while complying with Group policies, standards, and applicable external statutory obligations.
