Role Context
This position plays a critical role in protecting financial integrity by overseeing control policies, governance processes, and account verification standards across the Group. The selected professional will ensure accurate reporting, timely issue resolution, and continuous strengthening of the financial control framework while supporting audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with financial control policies across the Group including Account Ownership and Verification policy
- Manage governance and control activities such as AOV, Internal Accounts Review, and General Ledger mapping
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of balance sheet substantiation activities across business and operations teams
- Review account data and perform validation checks before loading information into the OneFC financial control system
- Coordinate and complete monthly Account Ownership and Verification exercises across the Group
- Review submissions to ensure compliance with established standards and embedded control requirements
- Liaise with account owners to ensure corrective action plans are assigned for identified issues with clear ownership and deadlines
- Prepare monthly AOV packs and management reports with timely escalation of control issues to senior leadership
- Maintain and update Account Ownership Inventory tables including risk ratings and account purpose classifications
- Conduct conformance testing and full documentation for accounts owned by Business and Operations teams
- Support resolution of issues highlighted through control reviews, audits, and regulatory findings
- Participate in RCSA exercises, finance systems implementation, UAT testing, and staff training related to financial control policies
Ideal Profile
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, CPA, or ACCA is preferred
- Degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Strong experience in banking financial control, governance, or finance operations
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet substantiation, financial reporting controls, and audit processes
- Experience handling internal audit, regulatory compliance, and financial governance reviews
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and control discipline
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities across finance and operational teams
