Job summary

Lamprell seeks a skilled Instrument Fitter to read complex drawings, install instrumentation, and assemble control panels on offshore projects in the UAE. The role involves measuring, bending, and installing piping and tubing, including stainless steel and galvanized systems.

You will perform pressure tests and ensure adherence to Oil & Gas instrumentation standards. Ideal candidates have ITI/ITC in instrumentation, at least 5 years in offshore construction, solid HSES knowledge, and strong

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: ITI / ITC in instrumentation with 5 years’ experience in construction as instrument fitter for Offshore Jobs.
  • Understanding all appropriate aspects of HSE procedures as related to his job function.
  • Physically fit and able to work in extreme climatic conditions.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Good knowledge of their trade combined with experience in a maritime fabrication yard environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret basic construction drawings such as equipment lay out, Cable tray / ladder layout, P & IDs, general arrangement drawings and instrument hook up drawings.
  • Install instrumentation and assemble instrument stands, control panels, JB’s, trays / ladders.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install primary piping and tubing including stainless steel tubes, galvanized pipes, cable trays / ladders.
  • Perform pressure testing of installed tubes and small-bore pipes and ensure compliance with instrumentation standards in Oil & Gas.
  • Communicate with colleagues and supervisors and ensure compliance with HSES policies and information security policies.
  • Identify and select appropriate tools and materials, safely operate them on offshore/offsite construction sites.

Job description

  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings such as equipment lay out, Cable tray / ladder layout, P & IDs, general arrangement drawings and instrument hook up drawings.
  • Understand the principles of basic instrumentation requirements.
  • Ability to identify, select, and safely operate all instrumentation tools such as hand benders, Hydraulic benders, bench benders etc.
  • Ability to perform various bends, offsets and stack up to 5 tubing line consecutively to device or rack.
  • Ability to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install primary piping and tubing including stainless steel tubes, Galvanized pipes, Cable trays / ladders in various sizes and lengths.
  • Competence to identify type and sizes of pipes, tubes, and related materials as per the drawings. Assemble and install Instrument Stands, control panels, JB’s, instruments, trays / ladders.
  • Expertise to measure, cut, thread, and install small bore piping for pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Able to perform / assist pressure testing of installed tubes and small-bore pipes.
  • Knowledge on specifications and standards about instrumentation activities in Oil and Gas industry. Ability to communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance to HSES policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.
Key Performance Indicator
  • Maintain and develop a safe working environment therefore contributing to the overall aims of the company with respect to HSES.
  • Attendance at all Toolbox Talks.
  • Successful completion of allotted work within timeframes allocated by line management with minimal rework.
  • Reduce and eliminate wastage in line with company policy.
  • Conformance to company policies and procedures.
