The role covers planning, diverse teaching strategies, assessment design, progress monitoring, reports, and active participation in school events and clubs, with a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Business Studies and Economics aligned with the British Curriculum.
• Teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (IGCSE/GCSE and A-Level, as applicable).
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Integrate real-world case studies and current economic/business developments into lessons.
• Prepare students for external examinations with a strong focus on academic achievement.
• Design and administer formative and summative assessments in line with curriculum standards.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
• Prepare reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
• Contribute to the development and review of schemes of work and teaching materials.
• Ensure curriculum delivery meets examination board requirements (e.g., Edexcel, Cambridge, AQA).
• Stay updated with curriculum changes and best practices in teaching Business and Economics.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.
• Encourage student participation, independent thinking, and collaboration.
• Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school policies.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
• Engage in peer observations and performance reviews.
• Contribute to departmental meetings and whole-school initiatives.
• Support extracurricular activities such as business clubs, enterprise competitions, or economics societies.
