Job summary

NMC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Healthcare coder to ensure accurate ICD-9/ICD10-CM/CPT/HCPCS/DRG coding for diagnoses and procedures. You will review documentation, ensure validity of final diagnoses, and abstract essential data from health records.

The role requires two years of coding experience, AHIMA CCA or AAPC CPC certification, and strong English communication, with readiness to stay updated on HAAD directives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Sciences or related field required with at least two (2) years of coding experience and AHIMA CCA or AAPC CPC certification.
• Strong Computer Literacy; MS Office applications and basic software skills required.
• Excellent command of oral and written English.

Responsibilities

• The incumbent checks and sequences the most accurate ICD-9/ ICD10-CM/CPT/HCPCS/DRG/Other codes for diagnoses and procedures for documented information.
• Assures the final diagnoses and operative procedures as stated by the physician are valid and complete.
• Abstracts information from health records to identify secondary complications and co‑morbid conditions.
• Ensures coding is per HAAD guidelines and regulations.
