Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer for Dry Utilities in Abu Dhabi to lead on-site supervision of electrical, telecom, and street lighting networks. • Identify technical issues and coordinate corrective actions with the project team.
• Manage interfaces between dry utilities and roads, wet utilities, structures, and landscaping.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor construction of electrical, telecom, street lighting, and associated dry utility networks.


• Oversee utility ducts, chambers, manholes, cable routes, sleeves, crossings, and related infrastructure works.


• Verify that construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.


• Review Contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, inspection requests, and other technical documentation.


• Monitor construction progress, quality, workmanship, and compliance with approved requirements.


• Coordinate with Contractors, Authorities, utility providers, stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines to resolve construction and technical matters.


• Monitor testing and inspection of dry utility networks and follow up on required inspections and approvals.


• Identify technical issues, construction risks, and potential delays and coordinate appropriate corrective actions with the project team.


• Manage interfaces between dry utilities and roads, wet utilities, structures, landscaping, and other infrastructure services.


• Assess site conditions and proposed construction solutions and provide technical recommendations where required.


• Monitor Contractor compliance with approved construction methodologies, ITPs, specifications, and quality requirements.


• Maintain records of inspections, construction progress, RFIs, technical issues, and site activities.


• Participate in site meetings, progress meetings, technical discussions, and coordination meetings with Contractors and relevant stakeholders.


• Ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements are implemented throughout site activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor 's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.


• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in infrastructure and dry utilities.


• Proven experience in dry utilities and infrastructure construction.


• Good knowledge of electrical and telecommunications networks, street lighting, utility ducts, chambers, and associated infrastructure works.


• Experience in construction supervision, site inspection, quality control, and Contractor coordination.


• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and technical submissions.


• Experience working on major infrastructure projects is preferred.


• UAE infrastructure and Authority experience is an advantage.


• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team while managing multiple site activities.
