Job summary

Gulf Contracting & Landscaping (GCL) in Abu Dhabi invites an experienced Infrastructure Draftsman to support road, utility, drainage, and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on producing accurate 2D design, shop and as-built drawings and ensuring coordination with related disciplines.

You will handle survey data, revisions, and submission packages, maintain drawing registers, and ensure standards across layers, title blocks, and annotations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or qualification in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of infrastructure drafting experience; Abu Dhabi road and utility project experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and experience preparing infrastructure shop and as-built drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawing packages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise 2D design, shop, and as-built drawings for roads and utilities.

• Coordinate drawings with landscape, structural, MEP and existing services to avoid clashes.
• Incorporate survey data, consultant comments, RFIs, and site changes with revision histories.

• Support authority and consultant submission packages as required.
• Coordinate with engineers and site teams to verify constructability and maintain as-built records.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Draftsman to support the delivery of road, utility, drainage, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and revise 2D design, shop, and as-built drawings for roads, cycle tracks, grading, drainage, and dry/wet utilities.
• Develop general arrangements, setting-out plans, utility layouts, longitudinal profiles, cross-sections, trench details, chambers, and construction details with accurate coordinates, levels, and dimensions.
• Coordinate road and utility drawings with landscape, structural, MEP, and existing services information, identifying clashes and missing design details.
• Incorporate survey data, consultant comments, RFIs, and approved site changes while maintaining accurate revision histories and drawing registers.
• Ensure drawings comply with required standards, including layers, references, title blocks, annotations, scales, and overall consistency.
• Support authority and consultant submission packages as required.
• Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and site teams to verify constructability and maintain accurate as-built records.

Candidate Profile:

• Diploma or qualification in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years of infrastructure drafting experience; Abu Dhabi road and utility project experience is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and experience preparing infrastructure shop and as-built drawings.
• Good understanding of survey information, coordinate systems, levels, utility profiles, and engineering drawings.
• Experience with stormwater, irrigation, water supply, electrical/ELV, and other underground utility networks is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple drawing packages and communicate technical discrepancies effectively.
