Job summary

Jaheziya is seeking an experienced Industrial Firefighter to join its Emergency Response Team (ERT) in the UAE. You will provide industrial firefighting and emergency response support to protect people, assets, operations and the environment.

You will respond to fire, hazmat, and other incidents while supporting PTW controls, fire prevention, equipment readiness, and HSE programmes within a high-risk industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in emergency response or related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
• Practical experience responding to industrial fire and hazardous materials incidents.
• Experience supporting fire prevention activities within an operating industrial site.
• Experience conducting fire protection equipment inspections.
• Experience supporting Permit to Work (PTW) controls.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, hazardous materials, and other emergency incidents as an active member of the Emergency Response Team.
• Carry out firefighting and emergency response activities using PPE, breathing apparatus, hose lines, and foam systems.
• Support incident scene control, hazard isolation, casualty support, and recovery activities.
• Conduct inspections of hydrants, hose reels, PPE, and firefighting equipment.
• Identify and report equipment defects or issues affecting readiness.
• Monitor site activities for unsafe conditions or practices.
• Support fire prevention activities and maintain clear emergency access to equipment.
• Perform PTW inspections and verify fire precautions are in place.
• Monitor hot work and high-risk activities with appropriate firefighting coverage.
• Participate in emergency drills, toolbox talks, and HSE awareness programmes.
• Maintain accurate inspection and incident records.
• Work as part of a fire and rescue crew following the incident command structure.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Firefighter to join our Emergency Response Team (ERT) in the UAE.

In this role, you will provide industrial firefighting and emergency response support, helping protect people, assets, operations, and the environment. You will respond to fire, hazardous materials, and other emergency incidents while supporting fire prevention, equipment readiness, Permit to Work (PTW) controls, and wider HSE programmes.

Key Responsibilities

As an Industrial Firefighter, you will:

• Respond to fire, hazardous materials, and other emergency incidents as an active member of the Emergency Response Team.




• Carry out firefighting and emergency response activities using appropriate PPE, breathing apparatus, fire appliances, hose lines, hydrants, foam systems, and other emergency equipment.




• Support incident scene control, hazard isolation, casualty support, and recovery activities.




• Conduct scheduled inspections of hydrants, hose reels, fire shelters, firefighting vehicles, PPE, breathing apparatus, and other fire protection equipment.




• Identify and report equipment defects, damage, missing equipment, and other issues that could affect emergency response readiness.




• Monitor site activities and identify unsafe conditions or practices that may create fire, process, or HSE risks.




• Support fire prevention activities and maintain clear emergency access to firefighting equipment and facilities.




• Conduct assigned Permit to Work (PTW) inspections and verify that required fire precautions and hazard controls are in place.




• Monitor hot work and other higher-risk activities, ensuring appropriate firefighting equipment, gas-testing controls, and emergency arrangements are available.




• Participate in emergency drills, exercises, competency assessments, toolbox talks, and HSE awareness programmes.




• Maintain accurate inspection, equipment, and incident-related records.




• Work effectively as part of a fire and rescue crew and follow the established incident command structure during emergency operations.

Experience Required

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in emergency response, firefighting, industrial safety, or a related field.




• At least 6 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.




• Practical experience responding to industrial fire and hazardous materials incidents.




• Experience supporting fire prevention activities within an operating industrial site.




• Experience conducting fire protection equipment inspections.




• Experience supporting Permit to Work (PTW) controls.

Mandatory Certifications

Candidates must hold current certifications from a recognised training or certification body in:

• NFPA Firefighter I




• NFPA Firefighter II




• HAZMAT Awareness




• HAZMAT Operations

Skills & Competencies

We are looking for candidates with:

• Strong industrial firefighting and emergency response capability.




• Working knowledge of fire behaviour and extinguishing methods.




• Practical knowledge of hose and hydrant operations and foam application.




• Competence in the use of firefighting PPE and breathing apparatus.




• HAZMAT awareness and knowledge of defensive response actions.




• Understanding of Permit to Work controls, fire watch requirements, and hazard mitigation measures.




• Strong situational awareness and the ability to operate safely in high-risk industrial environments.




• Effective teamwork and radio communication skills.




• The ability to follow incident command instructions and established emergency procedures.
