Job summary

Al Islami Foods is seeking a maintenance professional to operate and monitor its central ammonia refrigeration plant and related utilities. The role focuses on safe, reliable operation and routine preventive maintenance to support factory production.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, PLC experience, and hands-on mechanical maintenance skills, with a commitment to safety and documentation. On-site work in Ajman, UAE is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of central refrigeration plants and ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for industrial refrigeration and utility equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and safe equipment operation.
• Understanding of standards related to refrigeration system design, construction, and maintenance.
• Mechanical maintenance experience on industrial equipment.
• PLC knowledge/experience.
• Basic computer knowledge and maintenance documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain the central ammonia refrigeration plant and associated utilities to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on refrigeration and utility systems.
• Identify equipment or system failures and support timely repairs.
• Maintain required operating and maintenance records to ensure continuous refrigeration support for factory operations.
• Monitor the central ammonia refrigeration plant, heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems, and related utilities to ensure smooth operation within the facility.
• Inspect refrigeration and utility systems and their components to ensure safe operation and identify repair requirements.
• Identify and report equipment problems, abnormal operating conditions, and system failures to the Maintenance Manager/Engineer for timely repair or replacement action.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain refrigeration and utility equipment including coils, condensation pans, drain lines, cooling towers, and related components.
• Maintain operating and maintenance documentation including refrigerant records, logs, time and material records, specifications, and other required paperwork.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition and ensure required materials, tools, and supplies are available at the job site.
• Respond to refrigeration and utility emergencies during or after working hours to resolve immediate operational or safety concerns.
• Assist other Maintenance sections as required in completing maintenance and repair activities.
• Follow company safety procedures and take proper care of company assets while carrying out assigned work.
