Job summary

GEMS School of Research and Innovation is seeking an Inclusion Teacher to support Students of Determination and Gifted learners within a British-curriculum pathway. You will implement IEPs, MTSS, and differentiated strategies across a through-school setting, collaborating closely with teachers, counselors, and the leadership team.

Access to specialist resources, assistive technology, and partnerships with external experts will underpin your interventions.

Qualifications

• UK approved Inclusion qualification or Master’s in SEN/Inclusion and a PGCE are required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Inclusion leader in an international, high-performing school.
• Experience in a through-school environment (age 3–18) is preferred.
• Proven track record of improving Inclusion provision in a school setting.
• Up-to-date knowledge of KHDA Inclusion guidelines, UAE education policies and global best practices.
• Experience with IEPs, interventions, and multi-tiered systems of support for diverse learners.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with parents, leadership, and external partners.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies, UDL, and evidence-based interventions.

Responsibilities

• Support Students of Determination (SEND) and Gifted learners with tailored interventions in line with the British curriculum.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, and leadership to implement IEPs and MTSS.
• Liaise with parents and external experts to provide holistic support and progress updates.
• Integrate specialist resources and assistive tech to foster inclusive learning environments.
• Contribute to staff training and partnerships with UAE/UK/global education bodies.

The Inclusion Teacher will support Students of Determination (SEND) and Gifted students, ensuring they receive tailored interventions that enable them to access and progress within the British curriculum in line with the GEMS School of Research and Innovation’s vision for inclusive, research-driven, and future-focused education. This role involves implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), differentiated strategies, and in-class or pull-out interventions to meet diverse learning needs. With access to specialist resources, assistive technology, and industry partnerships, the Inclusion Teacher will work closely with classroom teachers, counselors, and the leadership team to foster an inclusive learning environment. The role can involve support with staff training and collaboration with external specialists. Additionally, they will liaise with parents and external experts to provide holistic support, ensuring equitable and meaningful educational experiences for all students.

Person Specifications:

• UK approved Inclusion qualification relevant to working with young people and children in a school environment, such as a Master’s in Special Education Needs (SEN) or Inclusion and a relevant PGCE
• 3 years’ experience as an Inclusion leader in an international setting within a high-performing school
• Experience working in a through-school environment (age 3-18) is preferred
• A track record of improving Inclusion provision in a school setting
• Up to date knowledge of best practice in Inclusion and current policy in UAE, UK and globally
• Strong knowledge of KHDA Inclusion guidelines, UAE education policies, and best practices in inclusive education is preferred
• Experience in managing IEPs, interventions, and multi-tiered systems of support for diverse student needs
