Job summary

GEMS Education invites applications for an Inclusion Teacher at its UAE international school in Dubai, with an immediate start or January 2027. Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher with a B.Ed/PGCE or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree meeting UAE teacher approval.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND/SEN in a school setting.
  • SEND or Special Education qualification is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of differentiation, intervention and personalised learning.
  • Experience developing and implementing individual education plans or equivalent student support plans.
  • Ability to use assessment and progress data to inform provision.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and support students with additional learning needs.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality individual and small-group interventions.
  • Collaborate with classroom and subject teachers to adapt learning and remove barriers to progress.
  • Support the development, implementation and review of individual education plans and personalised learning strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and use assessment information to evaluate impact of interventions.
  • Provide teachers with practical strategies for differentiation and inclusive classroom practice.
  • Build positive relationships with students and develop confidence, independence and engagement with learning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student needs, provision and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with Inclusion, ELL, counselling and pastoral colleagues to provide holistic support.
  • Liaise with external specialists and professionals where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records relating to student provision and progress.
  • Contribute to the wider life and professional learning culture of the school.

Position Overview

We are seeking an outstanding Inclusion Teacher to join our school for an immediate start, or January 2027 at the latest.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, the Inclusion team, families and other professionals to support students with additional learning needs and ensure they are able to access, participate in and succeed within the curriculum.

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate practitioner who understands that effective inclusion combines high expectations with personalised support, targeted intervention and excellent classroom practice.

Key Responsibilities

Skills
Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification such as a B.Ed, PGCE, State Teaching Licence or equivalent.
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree meeting UAE teacher approval requirements.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND/SEN or additional learning needs within a school setting.
  • A SEND, Inclusion or Special Education qualification would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of differentiation, intervention and personalised learning.
  • Experience developing and implementing individual education plans or equivalent student support plans.
  • The ability to use assessment and progress data effectively to inform provision.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, flexible and student-centred approach.
  • A commitment to high expectations for all learners.
  • Experience within an international school or the UAE would be advantageous but is not essential.
