Job summary

GEMS Education is seeking a Secondary English Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons under the British Curriculum. You will plan and teach English Language and Literature, developing skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar and literary analysis for secondary students.

You will prepare learners for GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level where applicable, differentiate instruction, and use varied assessment to monitor progress and provide timely feedback.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage diverse classrooms and maintain positive learning environments.
• Experience delivering GCSE/IGCSE English Language and Literature curricula.
• Experience using educational technology to enhance lessons and learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons for secondary students.
• Teach English Language and English Literature according to key stage requirements.
• Develop reading, writing, speaking and listening skills through varied texts.
• Prepare students for British examinations (GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level) where applicable.
• Assess progress with formative and summative methods and provide feedback.
• Differentiate instruction to meet abilities and support high-achievers and those needing help.
• Use a range of teaching strategies to promote active participation and independent learning.
