Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum secondary school certificate.
• At least two-year experience in a school setting.
• English language skills according to the school curriculum

Responsibilities

• Provide support for individual pupils or groups to enable participation in activities during the school day.
• Be pro-active in health and safety matters.
• Assist in implementing individual education programmes and monitor progress.
• Support pupils with additional needs and help develop social skills.
• Assist class teachers with maintaining pupil records.
• Prepare displays of pupils' work.
• Support photocopying and other teaching tasks.
• Support school aims and comply with health and safety and policies.
• Academic assistance.
• Give group instruction as prescribed; provide individual instruction.
• Demonstrating instructional activities.
• Monitor work and keep pupils on task.
• Praise and reinforce achievements; report progress to teacher.
• Reorganise materials at end of day.
• Check attendance.
• Supervise pupils in classrooms and other locations.
• Participating in development of behaviour policy; promote self-esteem.
• Discipline misbehavior per school policy.
