Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in Dubai seeks an ICT Engineer with 5+ years of data center design experience to join our UAE team. You will design and coordinate BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV systems for landmark projects, delivering drawings, calculations, specs, BOQs and reports.

You will collaborate across disciplines, conduct site surveys, review submittals, and ensure compliance with international standards. A strong focus on data center facilities and career growth within a global engineering firm awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in BAS, EPMS, ICT, and/or ELV design within a consulting engineering environment.
• Mandatory experience in data center design (enterprise, colocation, hyperscale, or mission-critical facilities).
• Experience delivering projects through all design phases from concept to construction closeout.
• Strong knowledge of systems design, integration and coordination (BAS/BMS, EPMS, CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, AV, PAVA).
• Familiarity with data center standards and industry best practices (TIA-942, BICSI, ISO/IEC, ASHRAE).
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and contractor documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV systems for data centers, with focus on facilities.
• Prepare design deliverables: drawings, calculations, specs, reports, and BOQs.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical and other disciplines.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to support design development.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and contractor proposals for compliance.
• Participate in design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Ensure designs comply with international standards (TIA, BICSI, ISO, etc.).
• Support projects through all phases from concept to closeout.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide the design team.
• Maintain quality and timely delivery of project documentation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and develop BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV systems for a variety of projects, with a strong focus on data center facilities.
• Prepare BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV design deliverables, including drawings, calculations, technical specifications, reports, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Coordinate BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Conduct site surveys, field inspections, and condition assessments to support design development and project delivery.
• Review shop drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, and contractor proposals for compliance with project requirements.
• Participate in design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
• Ensure all BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV designs comply with applicable international standards, including TIA, BICSI, ISO, and client-specific data center requirements.
• Support projects through all phases, from concept and schematic design to construction administration and project closeout.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to design team members.
• Maintain quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of project documentation.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of BAS, EPMS, ICT, and/or ELV systems within a consulting engineering environment.
• Mandatory experience in data center design, including enterprise, colocation, hyperscale, or mission-critical facilities.
• Proven experience delivering projects through all design phases, from concept and schematic design to construction administration and project closeout.
• Strong knowledge of the design, integration, and coordination of one or more of the following systems: (BAS/BMS) (EPMS) (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection) (AV) (PAVA)
• Experience preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and design documentation.
• Strong understanding of data centre design standards and industry best practices, including TIA-942, BICSI, ISO/IEC, ASHRAE, and other applicable international standards.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, and contractor documentation.
