Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in Dubai invites an ICT Engineer with at least 5 years of experience to design BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV systems for data center projects. You will prepare deliverables, coordinate with architectural and MEP teams, conduct site surveys, and ensure compliance with global standards such as TIA, BICSI, ISO/IEC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years designing BAS, EPMS, ICT and/or ELV systems in consulting engineering.
• Mandatory data center design experience in enterprise, colocation, hyperscale or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience delivering projects through all design phases from concept to closeout.
• Strong knowledge of BAS/BMS, EPMS, CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, AV, PAVA integration.
• Familiarity with data centre design standards: TIA-942, BICSI, ISO/IEC, ASHRAE and related standards.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and contractor documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV systems for data center facilities.
• Prepare design deliverables: drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, BOQs.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural teams.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections, and assessments to support design development.
• Review submittals and contractor proposals for compliance with requirements.
• Participate in design coordination meetings with clients, consultants and vendors.
• Ensure designs meet international standards (TIA, BICSI, ISO/IEC, ASHRAE).
• Support projects through all phases from concept to closeout; mentor junior engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and develop BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV systems for a variety of projects, with a strong focus on data center facilities.
• Prepare BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV design deliverables, including drawings, calculations, technical specifications, reports, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Coordinate BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Conduct site surveys, field inspections, and condition assessments to support design development and project delivery.
• Review shop drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, and contractor proposals for compliance with project requirements.
• Participate in design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
• Ensure all BAS, EPMS, ICT and ELV designs comply with applicable international standards, including TIA, BICSI, ISO, and client-specific data center requirements.
• Support projects through all phases, from concept and schematic design to construction administration and project closeout.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to design team members.
• Maintain quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of project documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of BAS, EPMS, ICT, and/or ELV systems within a consulting engineering environment.
• Mandatory experience in data center design, including enterprise, colocation, hyperscale, or mission-critical facilities.
• Proven experience delivering projects through all design phases, from concept and schematic design to construction administration and project closeout.
• Strong knowledge of the design, integration, and coordination of one or more of the following systems: (BAS/BMS) (EPMS) (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection) (AV) (PAVA)
• Experience preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and design documentation.
• Strong understanding of data centre design standards and industry best practices, including TIA-942, BICSI, ISO/IEC, ASHRAE, and other applicable international standards.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, and contractor documentation.
