Job summary

GEMS International School, Dubai Hills invites applications from experienced Individuals & Societies teachers for an immediate start. The school is an IB World School offering the full IB continuum.

The ideal candidate holds a degree-level teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) in History / Geography / Politics / International Relations / Economics or Social Sciences, with a minimum of 3 years’ Secondary I&S teaching experience, preferably IB curriculum.

Qualifications

• A certified teaching qualification at degree level (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years of solid and demonstrable experience teaching Secondary I&S; IB curriculum experience preferred.
• Experience with MYP and DP is advantageous.
• Ability to differentiate teaching and to support EAL, gifted, and students needing additional support.

• Plan and deliver inquiry-based lessons that foster curiosity and critical thinking.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that nurtures individual strengths.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, including EAL and gifted.
• Integrate technology and innovative approaches to enhance learning.
• Assess and communicate student progress, using data for personalised support.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design IB-aligned curriculum plans and assessments.
• Contribute to school life through co-curricular activities and community initiatives.
• Engage with parents and the wider community to support student wellbeing.
