Job summary

Fairmont Ajman is seeking a Hygiene Officer to oversee food safety, hygiene, and sanitation across hotel operations. You will monitor kitchen and dining areas, ensure adherence to HACCP principles, and maintain accurate records and documentation.

You will train colleagues, support audits, and collaborate with multiple departments to promote a strong food safety culture in a luxury beachfront setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Food Safety, Environmental Health, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in a hygiene, food safety, or quality assurance role within a hotel, restaurant, or food production environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles, food safety management systems, and food hygiene practices.
• Familiarity with UAE food safety regulations and local authority requirements.
• Relevant food safety or HACCP certification is an advantage.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Food Safety and Hygiene Monitoring: conduct regular hygiene inspections of kitchens, dining areas, storage spaces and other operational areas.
• Regulatory Compliance and Audits: ensure compliance with local legislation and assist audits and inspections.
• Pest Control and Waste Management: monitor pest control measures and waste handling per procedures.
• Training and Awareness: conduct hygiene and food safety training for colleagues.
• Coordination and Reporting: prepare inspection reports and coordinate with departments for improvements.
• Perform additional hygiene-related duties as assigned by management.
