HVAC Design Engineer for Industrial & Commercial Systems

Job summary

Confidential Company in Dubai is seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to analyse site layouts, piping & instrumentation drawings, and develop efficient cooling solutions for industrial and commercial projects. You will support sales and project teams with surveys, design calculations, and equipment selection.

You will prepare design packs using AutoCAD, perform cooling load and pump sizing calculations, and ensure compliance with HSE policies.

Qualifications

• Computer literate with experience in AutoCAD. Familiarity with load calculation software is highly preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office particularly with Excel for preparing BOM.
• Working experience with chillers, Air Handling units, Package ACs, Pumps and Split ACs. Experience with power load calculation is a plus.
• 5+ years of significant HVAC design experience in industrial and/or Commercial systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret Site Layout, Piping & Instrumentation drawing for new projects and understanding the client's cooling requirements.
• Assisting the sales team/project team in site surveys and client meetings to understand the cooling requirements and propose engineering solutions.
• Performing cooling load calculations, flow calculations, pump sizing, and duct sizing using specialised software.
• Design efficient temporary heating and cooling systems considering the available company rental fleet units (Chillers, Package ACs, Split Acs & associated power equipment).
• Preparing design drawing pack such as Site Layout, Single Line Diagram, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagram using AutoCAD.
• Preparing Bill of Materials and assisting sales/projects department for the budgeting.
• Assisting Projects Manger to identify the required cooling equipment and materials considering the budget restrictions and site requirements.
• Determine costs for material allocation and write up detailed budget estimates and provide technical support to sales and stores.
• Coordinate with field technicians to provide support on technical guidance, performance and troubleshooting support of HVAC equipment.
• Prepare technical documents for HVAC Equipment.
• Assisting the Projects Team & HSE Team to prepare the Method Statement for new projects.
• Ensure all designs and engineering practices have strict compliance with company safety policies and HSE regulations.
