Job summary

Confidential Company in Dubai seeks a Design Engineer – HVAC to design and develop HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, pumps and heat exchangers. You will perform load calculations, ducting, piping layouts and hydraulic calculations to meet project requirements.

You will coordinate with project managers, review shop drawings, and provide technical support during installation, testing and commissioning, while staying updated on new HVAC technologies and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Hands-on experience in HVAC system design and related software.
• Experience with HVAC load calculations, ducting and piping layouts, and hydraulic calculations.
• Knowledge of chilled-water and condenser-water systems, including piping schematics and layouts.
• Proficiency with HVAC design software and tools such as AutoCAD, HAP, Revit MEP, or similar applications.
• Ability to review technical drawings, shop drawings, equipment selections, and material submittals.
• Experience providing technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC and cooling systems.
• Familiarity with HVAC design standards and engineering calculations.

• Review and approve shop drawings, equipment selections, and material submittals from contractors.
• Assist in standardising design document standards by participating in meetings and preparing materials.

We are seeking a Design Engineer – HVAC with strong expertise in designing and developing HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and heat exchangers. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in load calculations, ducting, piping layouts, hydraulic calculations, and equipment selection using industry-standard tools. This role requires close coordination with project managers, review of shop drawings, and providing technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and develop HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, chillers, and cooling towers.
• Perform load calculations, ducting, piping layouts, and equipment selection using industry-standard software.
• Design and select chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, and related equipment based on project requirements.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations, piping schematics, and layouts for chilled water and condenser water systems.
• Coordinate directly with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements, verify design details and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards and best practices
• Provide support to engineering team as needed by creating digital models within deadlines and utilising multiple methods to ensure deliverables include all relevant design details
• Review and approve shop drawings, equipment selections, and material submittals from contractors.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, chiller, and cooling tower systems.
• Assist in ongoing project to standardise and unify design document standards by participating in meetings and preparing presentation materials as necessary
• Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
• Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
• Stay updated on new HVAC, chiller, and cooling tower technologies, equipment, and industry practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Strong experience in HVAC system design, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, and chilled-water systems.
• Hands‑on experience in HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, ducting and piping layouts, and hydraulic calculations.
