Job summary

Linnk Group in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced SAS Engineer to support a high‑voltage substation project. The role requires hands‑on Hitachi MicroSCADA expertise and a strong background in Substation Automation Systems (SAS), including configuration, testing, and commissioning.

You will configure IEDs, work with IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, and Modbus protocols, and support FAT/SAT while preparing design and test documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Hitachi MicroSCADA.
• Strong SAS engineering and testing for HV/EHV substations.
• Knowledge of substation protection and control systems.
• Practical understanding of IED configuration and integration.
• Experience with IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, and Modbus communication protocols.
• FAT, SAT, pre-FAT, and commissioning procedures.
• Ability to prepare technical specifications, test documents, and inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Configure and engineer Substation Automation Systems using Hitachi MicroSCADA.
• Configure and integrate intelligent electronic devices (IEDs).
• Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols, including IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, and Modbus.
• Perform pre-FAT activities and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities.
• Prepare and maintain Functional Design Specifications (FDS), I/O lists, configuration documents, and test documentation.
• Prepare FAT reports and other required engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate with project engineering, protection and control teams, and site personnel.
• Support technical troubleshooting and ensure SAS configurations meet project requirements.
