Job summary

Rowad Modern Engineering is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to ensure strict adherence to HSE policy across on-site project activities in the UAE. The role focuses on hazard prevention, incident reporting, and proactive safety management to protect personnel and assets.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the HSE team, issuing permits-to-work for high-risk tasks, and driving weekly progress reviews to improve safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, local UAE experience mandatory.
• Proven TAQA exposure and safety program implementation experience.
• OSHA is mandatory; NEBOSH/IOSH are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure HSE policy is followed on project sites to minimize hazards and risks.
• Increase HSE team awareness of health, environment and site equipment importance.
• Monitor site activities via method statements and identify hazards to eliminate.
• Manage firefighting process and communicate emergency exits and assembly points.
• Inform electricity team of hazards and required precautions.
• Attend daily progress meetings to coordinate schedule and safety precuations.
• Issue permits-to-work for high-risk tasks per safety procedures.
• Attend weekly progress meetings to review HSE activities and plan next steps.
• Liaise with HSE team to address concerns and resolve on-site issues.
• Prepare weekly/monthly statistics reports for HSE management.
• Prepare self-assessment reports to measure site performance (housekeeping, PPE, cables, tools).

Job description

Responsibilities

• Ensure that HSE policy is followed and applied on project sites to minimize hazards and risks
• Increase the HSE team s awareness of the importance of their health the environment and the equipment used on site
• Monitor all activities on site through a method statement to list all activities how they will be done and proactively determine the hazards to be eliminated before happening
• Manage the firefighting process plan and communicate information about the emergency exits assembly points and fire extinguishers to ensure that they are well known to everyone
• Inform the electricity team of all the hazards that they may be exposed to and communicate the precautions to be taken in order to avoid them
• Attend the daily progress meeting to coordinate schedule and set the precautions to be taken for each activity during the day
• Issue permits-to-work to authorized people to carry out specific high risk work against previously agreed safety procedures
• Attend the weekly progress meeting to identify the development of each HSE activity and to advise on the activities to be conducted in the upcoming week
• Liaise with the HSE team to identify and determine their concerns and the issues that they may be facing on site to tackle and resolve them
• Prepare the weekly and monthly statistics report including all details such as the number of first aid incidents training attendees employees onsite etc to be sent to the HSE department management
• Prepare the self-assessment report to measure the performance of all bands on site e g housekeeping personal protective kits electrical cables tools etc to be sent to the HSE department management

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering or any relevant filed +15 Years of Experience , Local experience is a must Proven experience with TAQA is required Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is a must.
• National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) is a plus.
• Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is a plus.
