Position Overview

The HSE Officer role at DP World Dubai is responsible for ensuring high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across facilities management operations. This position supports safe working environments by implementing effective HSE systems, managing risks, and promoting a strong safety culture aligned with UAE regulations and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments covering structural, electrical, operational, and environmental hazards
• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, manuals, and guidelines aligned with operational needs
• Perform regular safety inspections, audits, and site walkthroughs to ensure compliance and identify improvement areas
• Review, approve, and monitor Permit-to-Work systems at assigned facilities and project sites
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure safety-critical systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers, HVAC, and emergency lighting are fully operational
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, building codes, environmental laws, and applicable international safety standards
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
• Act as an internal or lead auditor and support external audits, inspections, and client assessments
• Plan and deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs on safe work practices and emergency response
• Promote a proactive safety culture among employees, contractors, and stakeholders
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions
• Monitor environmental factors including air quality, noise levels, waste management, and hazardous materials handling
• Oversee safe storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste
• Implement ergonomics initiatives to reduce occupational health risks
• Manage HSE activities of contractors and vendors in coordination with facilities management and procurement teams
• Prepare HSE reports, dashboards, and performance statistics for management and regulatory review
• Maintain all HSE documentation, registers, and records in accordance with legal and company requirements
• Perform additional HSE-related duties as required for facilities management projects

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or a related discipline
• NEBOSH Level 3 certification mandatory
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification mandatory
• CSP or CIH certification preferred
• Minimum five years of experience as an HSE Officer within facilities management, manpower supply, or security services sectors in the UAE or GCC
• Strong analytical, planning, and risk management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Detail-oriented and compliance-focused approach
