Job summary

GHD in the UAE is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Lead to join our Middle East team. You will work on site to monitor and audit construction contractors from a Health and Safety perspective.

The role requires a qualified HSE Lead with strong systems and auditing background, capable of setting up HSE processes and procedures for safe project execution and ongoing compliance. You will lead the HSE team and deliver training, investigations and drills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years’ relevant construction HSE experience.
• ISO45001:2018 Lead Auditor Certificate.
• OSHAD Registration.
• NEBOSH Dip Level 6 or equivalent such as OTHM Dip Level 6.
• NEBOSH qualification (Diploma or IGC).
• Auditing ISO 18001, 9001 and ISO 14001 knowledge.
• Experience in the Middle East region is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct inspections and audits to assess site compliance.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and compile reports.
• Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills.
• Monitor construction activities to minimize environmental impact.
• Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare reports.
• Lead and manage the HSE team, providing guidance and feedback.
• Experience auditing construction contractors.
• Set up HSE processes and procedures for safe site operations.
