Job summary

GHD is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Engineer for UAE projects. You will monitor and audit construction contractors from a health and safety perspective, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead HSE initiatives.

Role requires a strong auditing background and the ability to implement HSE processes, conduct inspections, and deliver training across sites in the Middle East.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years’ relevant construction HSE experience.
• Lead Auditor certification with ISO 45001 focus.
• OSHAD registration is required.
• NEBOSH Dip Level 6 or equivalent such as OTHM Dip Level 6.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent UK/Ire standards.
• Auditing experience across ISO 18001, 9001, 14001.

• Conduct inspections and audits to assess site compliance.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and compile reports.
• Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills.

• Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare reports.
• Lead and manage the HSE team, providing guidance and feedback.
• Experience in auditing construction contractors.
• Set up HSE processes and procedures for safe running of a construction site.

About The Role

Our Middle East operations have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Engineer to join our UAE team. The role will entail site work to monitor and audit construction contractors from a Health and Safety aspect.

We require a qualified Health and Safety Lead with a strong systems and auditing background in managing and monitoring construction contractors.

• The ability to set up HSE processes and procedures for the safe running of a construction site.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years’ relevant construction HSE experience
• ISO45001:2018 Lead Auditor Certificate.
• OSHAD Registration
• NEBOSH Dip Level 6 or equivalent such as OTHM Dip Level 6
• NEBOSH qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety)
• Capable Auditor with sound knowledge of ISO 18001, 9001 and ISO 14001 (preferably certified by an International Accreditation Body)
• Experience working in the Middle East region is essential.
