Job summary

Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai is seeking a Shift Leader in Housekeeping to oversee room attendants and public areas, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance meet hotel standards while driving departmental targets.

You will supervise daily tasks, coordinate with departments, train staff, and lead by example across different areas and shifts, including handling guest requests and property control.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising the Housekeeping Department in a hotel.
• Strong English communication, both written and spoken.
• Computer literate; Opera knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Daily supervision of room attendants and public areas to ensure standards.
• Communicate with team and attend training and coaching.
• Know hotel operations and scheduling; be aware of what, where and when.
• Prepare morning task assignments for room attendants and public areas; prepare turn-down reports.
• Coordinate with key departments and guests; communicate effectively with staff.
• Follow up special guest requests and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Oversee daily area allocations and supervise staff; rotate across housekeeping areas.
• Lead by example; conduct daily buzz meetings with housekeeping staff.
• Manage Lost Property, guest laundry, special requests, and flower orders as needed.
• Ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance of rooms and public areas.

Job description

As a shift leader in this department you will be responsible to overview the room attendants, public areas and as a team achieve the operational and financial targets while ensuring that the standards of cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel meet the requirements specified.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Daily supervision of room Attendants or public areas attendants to ensure the delivery of our standards.
• Focus on communicating to team and attending training and coaching.
• Gain perfect knowledge of the operations of the hotel. What, Where and When it is going on.
• Prepare task assignments for the morning of room Attendant and public areas. Prepare turn down reports.
• Communication skills as will need to communicate with key departments for the operation, and with guest and different members of the HSK department.
• Follow up special request from guest.
• Control and supervise every day the area allocated in witch the supervisor will have direct control.
• Ready to rotate In different areas and shifts of the housekeeping department.
• Able to work in high cleaning of the rooms and public areas.
• Conduct every day buzz meeting with HSK. staff.
• Follow up Lost Property, laundry guest, special guest request, flower orders and so one.
• Hands on person that leads by example.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Previous minor supervisory experiences within the Housekeeping Department of a hotel.
• Good command of written and spoken English communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and problem Solving abilities.
• Computer literacy and previous experiences with Opera are an advantage.
