Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts, Abu Dhabi, seeks an Engineering Supervisor to lead daily maintenance activities, ensuring safe, comfortable hotel operations. You will coordinate requests, guide colleagues, and uphold brand standards while supporting energy conservation and guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have technical engineering training and 2–4 years in hotel engineering with leadership experience, plus strong English communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma, vocational qualification, or relevant training in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, or related engineering field.
• 2–4 years' experience in hotel engineering or similar environment with supervisory experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of general hotel maintenance incl. electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems.
• Relevant technical certification or license as required by local authorities.
• Good communication skills in English with guests, management, colleagues and contractors.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily engineering and maintenance activities to meet required standards.
• Assign and follow up on maintenance requests with timely resolution.
• Respond promptly to guest and operations maintenance requests to support comfort.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, outlets, and back‑of‑house areas for maintenance needs.
• Coach and guide Engineering colleagues through training and clear communication.
• Monitor preventive maintenance schedules to keep equipment safe and functional.
• Maintain handling and care of engineering tools, spare parts, and assets.
• Ensure compliance with IHG standards, health and safety, and local regulations.
• Identify safety hazards and report defects, following up on corrective actions.
• Support energy and water conservation and waste reduction initiatives.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate outstanding issues to Chief Engineer.
• Assist in emergency response preparations.
