Job summary

Dusit Thani Dubai is seeking an experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance management for a high-rise/hotel project. You will lead the engineering team, ensure preventive maintenance programs cover HVAC and fire systems, and coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office on refurbishments.

The role requires strong English communication skills, leadership, and expertise in AutoCAD. You will report to the Director of Engineering and work with external contractors to maintain

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering.
• Current position as Asst.Chief Engineer or previous experience of at least 7-10 years in maintenance management at high-rise hotels or residential projects.
• Strong knowledge in maintenance engineering principles and practices.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication and leadership skills.
• Computer literate with the ability to read, interpret, and modify AutoCAD drawings.

Responsibilities

• Regularly visit and inspect major mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Prepare a preventive maintenance program for HVAC, guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, laundry, firefighting and fire alarm systems, and emergency generators.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained per manufacturers’ instructions and PM program.
• Respond to maintenance requests and keep accurate records of requests.
• Coordinate with departments to complete requests efficiently.
• Advise on cost-saving measures for HVAC, lighting and power, and evaluate new equipment or systems to reduce costs.
• Ensure engineering staff are knowledgeable about equipment and participate in management meetings.
• Conduct regular building inspections to ensure good repair and upkeep.
• Manage relationships with external contractors and oversee installation and repair activities with safety compliance.

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To regularly visit and inspect all major mechanical and electrical equipment including pump-rooms switch board filtration system HVAC system Clarifiers and see that they are in efficient operating condition
• To prepare a preventive maintenance program covering HVAC system Guest rooms Public Areas kitchen Equipments Laundry Equipments Firefighting system and fire alarm system emergency generators
• To ensure that all such equipment is regularly maintained and serviced in accordance with manufacturers instructions and the hotels preventive maintenance program
• Responds to all departments for repairs and maintenance requests and keep accurate records of such requests
• Follow up and maintain a close liaison with all other departments to ensure efficient completion of all requests
• Advises management on more effective ways of using air conditioning heat light and power to reduce costs and recommend new equipment or systems to reduce costs
• To ensure that members of the engineering department are knowledgeable regarding all equipment
• To participate in management meetings and review all matters involving the engineering department
• Makes regular inspection tours of the building to check everywhere is well maintained and in good repair
• Maintains strong working relationships with external contractors oversees the coordination of installation and repair activities and ensures all contractor personnel adhere to safety regulations and company procedures
• Co-ordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office regarding all rooms requiring re-furbishment
• Knowledgeable in all laws and regulations related to local building codes Abu Dhabi Civil defense DOE and ADOSH
• Establishes and administers appropriate work performance records and reports permits and inspection schedules Assists management in producing the Repairs and Maintenance budget items of major repair and the capital expense budget POMEC
• To control and supervise all aspects of engineering storage issues inventory levels and controls
• To be evaluated and evaluate the Engineering team according to the HR performance evaluation program

RELATIONSHIP

Reports to Director of Engineering Chief Engineer Coordinates with all concerned Corporate personnel Works closely with other department heads to ensure that all activities are accomplished

Minimum education

of Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Current position as Asst.Chief Engineer or previous experience of at least 7-10 years in Maintenance management level in high-rise hotel or residential project. Strong knowledge in the principles and practices of Maintenance Engineering operation. Have excellent written and spoken English communication and Leadership skills.
