Job summary

American Hospital Dubai is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily activities, ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic hospital environment. The role requires leadership of housekeeping staff across wards, clinics, and public areas while complying with JCIA and infection control standards.

You will plan daily activities, manage inventories, train staff, and promote sustainable practices that reflect the hospital's professional image and green initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of progressive housekeeping experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of JCI standards, infection control practices, and hospital housekeeping operations.
• Knowledge of waste management codes, sustainable housekeeping methods, inventory management, and chemical safety procedures.
• Skills in staff supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
• Ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written, with diverse nationalities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises housekeepers in assigned areas, ensuring tasks and projects meet standards.
• Plans and schedules daily housekeeping activities based on staff availability and needs.
• Assigns and adjusts cleaning areas considering workload and special cleaning needs.
• Ensures JCIA and infection control codes are maintained for a safe environment.
• Assists in developing and implementing housekeeping standards and departmental policies/procedures.
• Conducts periodic and special cleaning assignments for effective execution.
• Monitors receipt, issuance, and stock levels of linens, supplies, chemicals, and equipment; places timely orders.
• Ensures equipment and housekeeping trolleys are stored safely to reflect professional image.
• Coaches, mentors, and conducts skill-building sessions for team members.
• Monitors and evaluates staff performance, providing feedback and recognition or corrective action as needed.
• Ensures waste management codes and environmentally sustainable practices are followed.
• Promotes sustainable housekeeping practices, including water, energy, and chemical use minimization.
• Ensures staff are trained in sustainable housekeeping and waste segregation procedures.
• Verifies housekeeping keys are logged and returned with proper records.
• Reviews and maintains logbooks, worksheets, inspection sheets, and reports.
• Ensures manpower and material resources are used efficiently and economically.
• Responds promptly to requests for assistance from wards and departments.
