Job summary

Aldar Academies is seeking an assistant to help implement teaching plans and support students with Additional Educational Needs. The role focuses on ensuring access to learning content through tailored explanations and materials, while fostering a respectful, supportive classroom environment.

You will collaborate with teachers to prepare resources, support differentiated activities, monitor progress, and liaise with parents about student performance.

Qualifications

• Two year diploma/degree in education or Special needs education, or to have a high school diploma with a special needs education programme.
• Minimum experience of at least 2 years in the same field.
• Fluent English language communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist school staff in achieving its vision and targets as set in the improvement plan and self-evaluation.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and school policies, including equal opportunities.
• Support performance management processes and annual training related to safeguarding and health and safety.
• Attend staff briefings and manage sign-in/out at reception when off site.
• Develop understanding of students' Additional Educational Needs and ensure access to lessons with appropriate support.
• Build positive relationships with students, reinforce learning, promote independence, and foster motivation.
• Support teachers in lesson planning, resource preparation, differentiation, and record keeping on student progress.

General Responsibilities

• With the School Staff Assist school in achieving its overall vision and strategic intentions and to contribute to the achievement of relevant targets as set out in the school s improvement plan and self-evaluation form
• Comply with regulations pertaining to health and safety at work legislation and adhere to school policies relating to safe working practice and equal opportunities regulations
• Comply with the school s Performance Management Policy ensuring challenging annual targets are set and to fulfil the role of performance management reviewer if directed to do so by the principal
• Engage in annual training linked to child protection safeguarding and health and safety together with all training deemed appropriate for the purpose of school improvement or performance management
• Comply with the school s staff dress code at all times including the wearing of photo ID lanyard
• Comply with the school s computer Acceptable Use Policy AUP at all times
• Attend all staff briefings
• Sign out and sign in at relevant school reception if off site at any point during the normal working day

With the Student

• To develop an understanding of the Additional Educational Needs AEN special Educational Needs of the student s concerned
• To take into account the student s special needs and ensure their access to the lesson and its content through appropriate clarification explanations equipment and materials
• To build and maintain successful relationships with student s treat them consistently with respect and consideration
• To help reinforce learning
• To help promote independent learning
• To assist students with physical needs
• To help students record work in an appropriate way

With the Teacher

• To be involved in keeping records on evaluating the progress of identified students

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Qualifications Two year diploma/degree in education or Special needs education or to have a high school diploma with a special needs education programe.
• Minimum Experience At least 2 years of experience in the same field.
• Job Specific Knowledge & Skill Fluent English language communication skills, written and oral. Strong interpersonal skills. A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
