Job summary

Drydocks World in Dubai, UAE is seeking a labourer to perform tasks safely and competently in line with work instructions and yard requirements. Day-to-day duties include complying with OHSE standards, undertaking tasks safely, assisting with general works, and maintaining good working relationships with foremen, supervisors and management.

Technical competencies require selecting and using appropriate tools, adapting to foreman instructions, and the ability to work with limited supervision

Qualifications

• Comply with Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Quality requirements.
• Undertake tasks in a safe and competent manner.
• Assist with general works as required.
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers and supervision.
• Follow instructions from foreman and meet project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks of a labourer in line with work instructions and yards requirements.
• Comply with OHSE and quality standards.
• Assist with general works and readiness to take on foreman duties as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping and report damages or shortages.
• Work within allocated timescales to meet department targets.
• Attend required training and cooperate with foremen and management.

JOB OBJECTIVES: SUMMARY OF OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for performing task of labourer competently, safely and quality as per the work instructions and yards requirements in a timely manner.

Day-to-day operations:

• Complying with all applicable Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Quality as stated in the relevant Management Systems.
• Undertaking tasks assigned in a safe and competent manner.
• Assisting with general works as requested.
• Maintain good working relationship with workers, appointed foreman, supervisors and management.
• Perform duties of a Foreman as required / appointed for individual projects.
• Ensure materials are of required standard prior to use, reporting damages when required.
• Work within allocated timescale to meet department targets.
• Attend any training for any activity required by the department.
• Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas.
• Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.

Technical competencies:

• Select and use appropriate tools.
• Adapt easily the instruction by foreman.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
