Job summary

RIXOS in Abu Dhabi seeks a proactive Health & Safety Manager to design and implement comprehensive safety programs for a diverse set of operations in the UAE. You will lead regulatory compliance, risk assessments, incident investigations, and training initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health & safety or a related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in health & safety management in corporate/industrial settings.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE labour laws and occupational health & safety requirements.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification.
• Proven incident investigation and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Excellent English communication and training skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE programs in line with UAE laws and ISO 45001 or similar standards.
• Lead risk assessments, hazard analyses, and corrective action plans.
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and non-conformities to determine root causes.
• Organize and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and inductions for all staff.
• Monitor safety metrics, conduct audits, and report performance to management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed safety into operations and projects.

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Health amp Safety Manager to join our organization in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role you will be responsible for developing implementing and maintaining comprehensive health and safety programs that protect our workforce and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills decisive leadership and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety excellence across all organizational levels Develop implement and oversee health and safety policies procedures and programs in compliance with UAE labor laws and international safety standardsConduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential workplace dangers and recommend appropriate control measuresInvestigate workplace incidents accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actionsMaintain detailed safety documentation records and reports ensure accurate reporting to regulatory authorities as requiredOrganize and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels including induction toolbox talks and specialized safety coursesPerform regular safety audits and inspections of facilities equipment and work practices to ensure ongoing complianceCollaborate with department managers and supervisors to integrate safety requirements into daily operations and project planningDevelop and maintain emergency response and evacuation procedures coordinate drills and training exercisesMonitor safety performance metrics and key performance indicators prepare reports for management reviewStay current with changes in health and safety regulations and industry best practices update policies accordinglyServe as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external safety consultants

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in a health and safety management role within a corporate or industrial environment
• In-depth knowledge of UAE labor laws, regulations, and occupational health and safety requirements
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification techniques
• Demonstrated expertise in incident investigation and root cause analysis
• Proficiency in developing and implementing safety management systems and programs
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed documentation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to deliver training and present to diverse audiences
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and safety management software
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 or similar occupational health and safety management standards (preferred)
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, or industrial sectors (preferred)
• Knowledge of emergency response planning and business continuity procedures (preferred)
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence safety culture at all organizational levels
