Job summary

A high-end restaurant in Dubai is seeking an experienced Head Sommelier. You will be responsible for ensuring product quality and recommending wine pairings for guests based on their tastes. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in award-winning establishments and hold a sommelier certification or equivalent WSET Level 4. Fluency in Russian, Arabic or Balkan languages is a plus, alongside a strong knowledge of French and New World wines.

Job description

Our client is currently hiring an experienced HeadSommelier for a high-end restaurant in Dubai.

What will you do?

• Have complete knowledge of all menu items offered
• Ensure product quality and consistency are delivered at all times
• Has impeccable knowledge of all products in the portfolio
• Recommend food and wine pairings
• Advising guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices
• Has a good knowledge of all beverages beyond those stocked in the restaurant
• Follow HACCP requirements

What are we looking for?

• Certified sommelier or successfully completed equivalent of WSET Level 4 would be preferable
• Solid knowledge of French and New World wines (South American and North American wines, in particular, would be an advantage)
• Curious attitude, always learning and exploring new ideas
• Minimum 2 years of experience in high-end, high-volume, award-winning restaurant/bar operations in Europe, the Middle East, or Asia
• Fluency in either Russian, Arabic or Balkan languages would be an advantage.
