Job summary

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Head of Technology Transformation & Portfolio Management to lead the Technology Transformation and PMO across initiatives in line with business objectives. You will oversee governance, delivery, capacity planning and UAE National development to build a sustainable technology delivery capability.

You will drive roadmap execution, stakeholder management and benefits realization while championing agile, hybrid and value-based delivery across programs

Qualifications

Job description

Role: Head of Technology Transformation & Portfolio Management(UAE Nationals only)

Location : Abu Dhabi

Role Purpose

Lead the Technology Transformation & Portfolio Management function within ADIB Technology, with accountability for Transformation & Enablement, Technology Transformation, PM Governance and PM Delivery. Provide strategic direction and oversight for the technology portfolio, ensuring initiatives are prioritized, governed and delivered in line with ADIB business objectives, approved investment, risk appetite and regulatory obligations. Build a sustainable delivery organization through effective FTE planning, resource capacity management, UAE National development, succession planning and professional capability development.

Key Accountabilities of the role

Technology Transformation & Enablement

• Define and execute the technology transformation roadmap, operating model improvements and change enablement priorities.

• Lead transformation adoption, Agile and hybrid ways of working, continuous improvement and value-based delivery practices.

• Oversee organizational readiness, stakeholder engagement, communications, knowledge sharing and communities of practice.

• Monitor transformation outcomes, adoption, realized benefits and required corrective actions.

Technology Portfolio Management

• Own the portfolio planning, prioritization and investment governance framework for Technology initiatives.

• Align the portfolio with ADIB strategy, approved budgets, resource capacity and delivery dependencies.

• Provide transparent portfolio reporting covering scope, schedule, cost, benefits, risk, issues and decisions.

• Facilitate executive portfolio reviews and elevate material constraints for timely resolution.

PM Governance

• Establish and maintain PMO policies, standards, methodologies, stage gates, controls and assurance requirements.

• Ensure consistent governance, audit readiness, quality assurance and compliance across programs and projects.

• Oversee portfolio dashboards, KPI definitions, data quality, project health reviews and management reporting.

• Drive PMO maturity and corrective actions based on assurance findings, lessons learned and performance trends.

PM Delivery

• Provide leadership and oversight for the delivery of technology programs and projects through the PM Delivery function.

• Ensure initiatives are delivered within approved scope, schedule, budget, quality and governance requirements.

• Oversee delivery risks, issues, dependencies, resource constraints and stakeholder escalations.

• Drive benefits realization, delivery discipline, vendor accountability and continuous improvement.

Workforce, FTE & Capacity Management

• Develop and maintain the function workforce plan, organization design, role requirements and FTE demand forecast.

• Balance permanent FTE, UAE National talent, contractors and strategic partner capacity against portfolio demand and budget.

• Monitor vacancies, recruitment, deployment, utilization, skills gaps and succession risks across the function.

• Provide workforce dashboards and recommendations to Technology Leadership and HR.

UAE National Development & Staff Capability

• Own structured development plans for UAE Nationals, including role-based learning, mentoring, coaching, job rotations, stretch assignments and certifications.

• Agree measurable development objectives, review progress regularly and maintain evidence of capability growth and readiness.

• Build career pathways and succession pipelines for project management, program management, governance and transformation roles.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, coach and develop the function leadership team and wider workforce, setting clear objectives and accountability.

• Partner with Business, Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Procurement, HR and external delivery partners.

• Act as a trusted advisor to the Acting CIO and Technology Leadership Team on transformation, portfolio and workforce matters.

• Champion ADIB values, customer focus, ethics, ownership and collaboration.

• Promote continuous learning, knowledge transfer and professional accreditation for all staff.
