Job summary

ANZUK Education in Dubai seeks a Head of Primary PE to lead and develop a high-quality sports programme across the Prep school from Foundation to Year 6, starting January 2027.

The role requires strong leadership, experience with UK National Curriculum, and a track record of improving pupil progress; includes housing allowance, medical insurance and 2-year renewable contract.

Candidates with international exposure and Level 2 Swimming certification are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with a PGCE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Level 2 Swimming certification would be advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years of post‑qualification teaching experience at the relevant primary age range.
• Previous leadership experience is an advantage but this post could be a suitable step for an aspiring middle leader.
• Experience of teaching the UK National Curriculum, preferably in an independent school context.
• Previous international teaching experience, particularly within the Middle East, would be an advantage.
• Ability to evidence sustained improvement of pupil progress.
• A strong record of professional development.
• Be able to provide a relevant and up to date police check and references.

• Review and improve the curriculum provision for EYFS – Year 6 pupils.
• Monitor and track attainment and progress of pupils across the Prep school in PE and swimming.
• Provide opportunities for talented sports people to have a pathway to excellence.
• Ensure the swim programme is delivered to the highest standard with a clear trajectory of pupils’ progress.

The Role

Key Responsibilities
