Position Overview

The Head of Middle School role at GEMS Education in Dubai provides strategic and operational leadership for the Middle School, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, strong pastoral care, and continuous improvement in student outcomes while upholding the school's ethos of excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Provide leadership and management for the Middle School to ensure high standards of teaching and learning across all subjects
• Drive improved student achievement through effective curriculum planning, assessment, and monitoring
• Lead student discipline and pastoral care, liaising with teachers and parents as required
• Manage budgets, resources, and timetables to support effective school operations
• Work closely with supervisors, heads of department, and coordinators to ensure curriculum continuity and progression
• Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning and provide targeted support and guidance to staff
• Set priorities, targets, and development plans for team members and departments
• Act as the first point of contact for Middle School teaching staff to promote student wellbeing and academic success
• Lead self‑evaluation processes and implement improvement actions and inspection recommendations
• Coordinate professional learning and development initiatives for Middle School staff
• Support assessment strategies, curriculum enrichment, and the development of learning skills
• Contribute beyond the typical workday to school events and initiatives requiring additional commitment
• Ensure the effective day‑to‑day running of the Middle School, including staff management and professional development
