Job summary

Globe 24-7 in partnership with a leading Commodity Trading company seeks a Head of Finance Operations to join the Dubai team, with occasional travel to sourcing regions in Africa as needed. The role covers UAE and Central Africa (DRC, Rwanda, Burundi primarily) and requires strong leadership in finance operations.

You will drive financial reporting, governance, cash management and profitability analysis across trading activities, while improving processes and controls in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• 8–14 years of experience in finance, commercial finance, treasury, trade finance, financial control or business finance.
• Experience in commodity trading, mining & metals, physical trading, industrial distribution or logistics, with Africa market exposure.
• Strong expertise in working capital, cash flow, payment governance, management reporting and financial controls.
• Strong understanding of commodity trading, hedging, brokers/exchanges, inventory exposure and margin requirements.
• English & Hindi strongly preferred; commercially minded, practical and comfortable working in fast-paced, founder-led environments.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Visibility: Build dashboards and reporting covering cash, working capital, profitability, trading positions and commercial risks.
• Governance & Approvals: Establish approval thresholds, delegated authorities and escalation processes while maintaining speed of execution.
• Cash & Working Capital: Manage visibility over cash, receivables, payables, inventory, supplier obligations and funding requirements.
• Commercial Finance: Analyse profitability, margins, commodity exposure, hedging, customer/transaction performance and commercial risks.
• Funding & Process Improvement: Identify external funding opportunities and improve finance processes, controls and reconciliations without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
