Role Context
The Graphic Design Lead – Visual Communications will manage the production of sophisticated visual content for engineering, infrastructure, and transportation assignments. The role combines creative leadership, technical presentation design, team supervision, quality assurance, and coordination with design managers, technical writers, editors, engineers, and project authors.
The successful professional will transform complex technical information into clear, accurate, and visually compelling materials, strengthening client presentations, project reports, proposals, public communications, and internal design standards across Parsons Corporation’s Dubai portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a team of graphic designers supporting multidisciplinary engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Work closely with the Design Delivery Director to improve visual quality, consistency, efficiency, and presentation standards.
- Plan graphic design workloads, assign tasks, monitor deadlines, and maintain reliable delivery across multiple projects.
- Produce complex reproduction‑ready visual materials for client presentations, reports, proposals, and project communications.
- Develop high‑quality three‑dimensional renders and animations illustrating engineering concepts, project designs, and development proposals.
- Design brochures, flyers, presentation slides, charts, diagrams, tables, sketches, posters, signs, certificates, and technical display materials.
- Prepare plots, isometric graphics, viewgraphs, and other visual outputs required by technical teams.
- Convert engineering and design information into clear graphics that can be understood by technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Review artwork, written content, images, and supporting material submitted for inclusion in project documents.
- Coordinate directly with technical writers, editors, engineers, authors, and document requestors.
- Recommend improvements that strengthen clarity, accuracy, visual hierarchy, and consistency with corporate branding.
- Modify and enhance existing artwork to improve presentation quality or align it with updated project requirements.
- Establish and maintain graphic standards, templates, production methods, and quality‑control procedures.
- Review completed work for accuracy, resolution, alignment, typography, brand compliance, and attention to detail.
- Ensure all files are suitable for digital presentation, professional printing, and reproduction.
- Guide graphic designers in the use of modern visualization methods, animation workflows, and design software.
- Coach junior and mid‑level team members through technical reviews, practical feedback, and structured development.
- Identify skill gaps and support training initiatives that strengthen the capabilities of the graphics team.
- Research emerging design techniques, software tools, visualization trends, and production technologies.
- Maintain organized digital assets, templates, source files, image libraries, and approved brand resources.
- Coordinate revisions and confirm that approved comments are accurately incorporated before final issue.
- Manage competing deadlines while protecting the quality and accuracy of client‑facing deliverables.
- Support the preparation of major bids, executive presentations, design reviews, and stakeholder communication packages.
- Perform additional visual communication and team leadership responsibilities associated with the position.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, or a related discipline from an accredited university.
- More than 12 years of professional graphic design or visual communication experience.
- At least 5 years of experience working with engineering, infrastructure, architecture, or design consultancies in the GCC is preferred.
- Previous professional experience in Dubai is advantageous.
- Proven ability to lead, supervise, and develop a team of graphic designers.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating corporate presentations, technical graphics, reports, three‑dimensional renders, and animations.
- Experience converting complex engineering or infrastructure content into accessible visual communication.
- Advanced knowledge of layout, typography, branding, information design, image preparation, and production standards.
- Ability to review artwork and written content for clarity, consistency, and visual effectiveness.
- Strong understanding of print production, digital publishing, presentation design, and reproduction‑ready artwork.
- Experience collaborating with technical writers, editors, engineers, project managers, and senior leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple design assignments, priorities, reviews, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong creative judgment supported by close attention to technical detail.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Confident leadership, presentation, coordination, and problem‑solving capabilities.
