Overview
AECOM’s structured ADVANCE graduate program offers recent engineering graduates practical exposure to civil engineering teams, project execution, scheduling, reporting, resource coordination, and infrastructure project delivery. The role helps graduates transition confidently from academic study into professional engineering and project management practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in structured rotations across civil engineering technical teams to build a strong foundation in core project disciplines.
- Support senior Project Managers and Program Managers with project execution, progress tracking, scheduling, reporting, and coordination activities.
- Assist in monitoring project resources, timelines, budgets, and deliverables to support successful infrastructure project delivery.
- Identify project challenges within assigned tasks and work with the team to review options and recommend practical solutions.
- Apply sound judgment when supporting decisions that may affect project progress, coordination, cost, or delivery outcomes.
- Contribute to project reports, technical updates, meeting notes, and documentation required for project and program management workflows.
- Learn how multidisciplinary teams coordinate engineering, design, planning, and construction-related activities.
- Use engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools to support technical and project tasks where required.
- Take part in on-the-job learning, mentoring sessions, and graduate development activities under AECOM's ADVANCE program.
- Share knowledge with peers and contribute positively to team discussions, learning activities, and project problem-solving.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
- Recent graduate who completed studies within the last 24 months or no earlier than September 2024.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2 or above, in line with AECOM's graduate program eligibility requirements.
- Master's degree holders should have started the master's program within 12 months of completing the bachelor's degree.
- Candidates with more than 1 year of postgraduate work experience are not eligible for this graduate program.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar engineering software.
- Strong interest in civil engineering, transportation, infrastructure, project delivery, and program management.
- Good teamwork skills with the ability to learn from experienced engineers and contribute to group objectives.
- Analytical mindset with willingness to understand project challenges, explore alternatives, and support practical solutions.
- Motivated, organized, and ready to follow a structured graduate development path in Abu Dhabi.
