Job summary

ByteDance is hiring a campus-hire AI Application Engineer to contribute to the end-to-end delivery of AI-powered business systems. You will collaborate with product, design, and cross-regional engineering teams to grow rapidly into an engineer capable of independently building AI products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, AI, or related field.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms and systems with good coding habits.
• Proficiency in Golang / Java / Python.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices.
• Understanding of AI Agent architectures (reasoning, memory management, multi-Agent collaboration).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services and the Agent runtime, ensuring code quality and maintainability.
• Integrate internal enterprise systems into Agents via Tools / MCP / CLI / A2A.
• Participate in code reviews and follow team coding standards.
• Write clear AI-friendly technical documentation and contribute to knowledge base.
• Explore embedding AI capabilities into backend services and contribute to AI-driven features.
