The Opportunity

We are working with a leading international gold and precious-metals business seeking a Gold Trader to join its trading team at its Corporate Headquarters in Dubai.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious trader with approximately 2+ years' experience in gold, precious metals or physical commodities to develop their career within a large international organisation.

The successful candidate will be involved in the day-to-day trading of gold and precious metals, working closely with suppliers, customers, counterparties and internal teams across an international network.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute physical gold and precious metals transactions across international markets.
• Monitor global gold prices, market movements, liquidity and trading opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, refiners, bullion dealers, banks and other market counterparties.
• Negotiate pricing, premiums and commercial terms with customers and suppliers.
• Monitor trading positions, exposures and P&L.
• Support the sourcing and sale of physical gold across international markets.
• Analyse market fundamentals, supply and demand, macroeconomic developments and other factors affecting precious‑metals prices.
• Work closely with senior traders to identify new trading and arbitrage opportunities.
• Coordinate with Operations, Finance, Treasury, Logistics, Risk and Compliance to ensure transactions are executed and settled efficiently.
• Assist with hedging physical exposures using appropriate market instruments.
• Monitor counterparty exposure and ensure trading remains within agreed risk limits.
• Maintain accurate trading records and provide regular reporting on positions, P&L and market activity.
• Ensure all trading activity complies with internal risk, compliance, AML and responsible‑sourcing requirements.
• Build relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities to develop new business.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a commercially minded individual who has already developed a solid understanding of commodity or precious‑metals markets and is looking to take the next step in their trading career.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Approximately 2+ years' professional trading experience.
• Previous exposure to gold, precious metals or physical commodities.
• A good understanding of physical trading, pricing, execution and risk.
• Knowledge of international gold and precious‑metals markets.
• Understanding of spot, forwards and hedging would be advantageous.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good commercial judgement and an ability to identify trading opportunities.
• Confidence dealing directly with clients, suppliers and counterparties.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• An understanding of P&L, trading positions and risk management.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑moving trading environment.

Direct physical gold trading experience would be particularly attractive, although candidates from other precious metals or closely related physical commodity markets will also be considered.
