Job summary

Airalo is seeking a Head of Tax & Compliance to build and enforce a global tax framework for over 100 markets from a remote-first base. You will guide indirect taxation, transfer pricing, and regulatory compliance to support rapid growth and international readiness.

The role requires strong leadership, deep tax knowledge, and collaboration with legal, finance, and external advisors to manage risk and optimize tax strategy across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Expertise in indirect tax (VAT/GST) across digital commerce
• Knowledge of transfer pricing frameworks and TP documentation
• Strong knowledge of global substance rules
• Familiarity with automated tax reporting platforms and dashboards
• Risk-focused yet solution-oriented with regulatory obligations
• Ability to engage with tax authorities and external advisors across geographies

Responsibilities

• Build a globally consistent and locally compliant tax structure across >100 active markets
• Oversee end-to-end indirect tax processes including VAT/GST registrations, filings, reconciliations and audits
• Develop and implement transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transaction flows
• Identify and mitigate tax risks such as permanent establishment exposure and cross-border issues
• Engage with consultants, authorities and internal stakeholders on tax obligations
• Monitor evolving global tax regulations and drive internal alignment on changes
• Establish internal tax policies, calendars and dashboards for global exposure
• Support finance and legal during funding and entity restructuring with tax advice
