Job summary

DP World in Dubai seeks a Global Manager Automation – RTG to lead automation strategy for Rubber-Tired Gantry crane systems across all automation levels, from semi-automated to driverless operations.

This role coordinates with Engineering, Operations, R&D, IT and Energy to ensure scalable, globally standardized deployments while improving safety, energy efficiency and yard productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics/robotics/automation or mechatronics engineering is required.
• Extensive experience in RTG automation, PLCs, and automation systems.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional automation projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Asses worldwide DP World RTG assets and identify quick wins with high impact.
• Model RTG crane systems across automation levels using dedicated platforms.
• Provide expert guidance on PLC, HMI, CMS and crane control system modifications.
• Develop and maintain reports on automation, decarbonization and R&D initiatives.
• Analyze RTG performance data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with R&D, IT, Energy, Operations and Engineering for data and requirements.
• Propose safety and fleet-management enhancements for automated RTGs.
• Support retrofitting projects to improve productivity and energy efficiency.
• Drive standardization and knowledge sharing across regions and BUs.
